Listening for the divine instruction I sit real quiet on the edge of my thought. Trying not to interrupt the possibility that some holy red thread of wisdom might reach through the… Continue reading
Though the storms of doom will rage against our bright windows opened to the day
And the perils of Main street and Wall street bid us foreboding while we linger under feather coverlets
While the headlines glorify mayhem and madness, we shall leap forward with red shoes made for dancing
We, a people of an unreasonable dream, will not be undone. Our very bones are made for this bright longing.
This faith which against the odds of empty houses, white houses, houses of financial ill repute and houselessness.
This faith will see us through and cause us to throw open our doors to our futures and shout
DAY! We cometh forth from the depths of yester-year! We will wear orange dresses and feathered hats,
READY OR NOT! HERE WE COME!
And while we claim the wreckage still piling up in the junkyard of ‘soul work’ still to be done
We shall not be put under the tires of commerce or commercial or cynicism
We cannot be talked out of our joy!
I send you greetings this bright December 1st! I woke up thinking about you again…
and about what so many of us are going through! What a time we are having right now! Whether our challenges are being too busy, being financially stressed or moving through the kind of blues that seem like it will never end, there is always something we can do to lift the dark clouds. I believe!
One of the hardest parts of going through challenging times is that when in the very midst of it, it has this impermeable quality that seems to echo lies like: “this it is how it is now”,which continues to create the sinking feeling we already have. Or we have been skidding downhill for a while now, and it appears there is still very much more skidding ahead, so, despair comes and pounds on the door of our heart and says things like: ”you have been in denial, you are too optimistic, face it, you are going down.”
We have tried red wine and chocolate and festive gathering with friends. We have even tried making a decision to “shop anyway”. But somehow the old quick fixes aren’t fixing. That is because it is not just us – we know of many who are also challenged right now – and it is not that misery loves company because misery is so morbid, it is because we do not want to feel alone in our dark night depth diving.
There is a weave of love and instruction
You have placed upon my life.
Your Son said His yoke was easy and His
burden was light.
Your original question was: How can we be at peace, yes?
I have told you. And still you do not believe me. How then is change possible?
Why don’t you just try it? Like you tried today, calling on me?
As you all are so fond of saying: What have you got to lose?
So much of this creation, little one, is set up to work with how
you approach your lives. What you allow yourself to think,
and what stories you choose to cultivate. And the stories you make
about the stories to hold yourself, and others captives. If you all would
stop, just this part, the whole world would be different overnight.
You are the miracles in your midst.
Just ask the Queen Bee what is happening to her hives
Just ask the Mama Whale what is happening to her sea
Just ask the Empress Butterfly what has happened to her cocoons
Just as the Mama Frog what has happened to her shimmering legs
Just ask the Princess Salamander how far from home she has had to travel
Just ask the wolf, La Loba, what has happened to her wooded trail
Just ask the Salmon Mother why her children cannot make it up the river
You shine the light
on the unseen places.
The unhealed places.
The old story places.
The edge of my mind
covered over by thoughts
I picked up on a side street.
Your light shines and reveals
Darling, you don’t need that thought any longer.
Let it go.
? Question 9 of 10: We have a hard time making changes even when we know what we need to do, for our health, finances, relationships – we just keep making the same bad choices. Could we schedule a free humanity wide “tele-course?”
p.s. I am grateful for: chocolate. sunshine. the sound of my lover’s voice.
Oh Holy Lady
bring eucalyptus and sage
bring bowls of clear broth
