On speaking to those who live from the soul

On speaking to those

who live from the soul,

during times of great change.

Do not tell me to move on.

Do not tell me to speak out

when I wish for silence.

Do not tell me there is a reason

for everything, I know better.

Do not tell me not to succumb to fear

when there are clearly things to fear.
Here is a way

to speak to those

who live from the soul,

during times of great change.
Remind me it is good

to just feel how I really feel.

Remind me that I don’t have to move on

before my heart is ready

or speak before I have found my words

to name this strange happening for myself.

We have exactly zero proof

that everything happens for a reason

so don’t tell me that either.

Sit with me in my fear

instead of asking me to move into love.

Especially before I have identified the dangers

around us so I can remind us

of what to watch for

during times of great change.

Remind me it is good to just

feel how I really feel because this feeling

informs appropriate action in personal timing.

We all have personal timing, and in navigating

these times, we must honor the individual timing

as well as the collective happenings.

I am allowed to make distinctions between me,

and the world unfolding around me. I have to.

Through this kind of presence,

which could disappear our mutual exile

perhaps we can find time

for some tea and epiphany.

I will meet you there.
