Red Thread Nation

Years ago when I first thought of the red thread, and I googled it, there was nothing there but a small reference from the Chinese tradition which states that those who are supposed to meet are connected by an invisible red thread since before birth.

It was given to me in prayer, on the way to a Native American women’s circle being held up a Lake Isabella, as well as at the Delores Huerta Foundation. I was working with Native American Elder Tonantzin Guerra Rennick, who found me through my coloring book and journal, Color of Woman.

After filling hers to the brim, Tonantzin asked the Tribal Taniff for the Bakersfield area to work with me to so that I could come and bring creative journaling to the women. On the way there, I prayed to Our Lady to show me how to identity myself as ‘being of love’, right away, so as the create trust among the women, so we could get to work. The circles were to last but a few short hours, and to make headway into creative journaling and the practice of it I would need to move swiftly into deep territory. Plus I was nervous. A Prayer Request: When Hard Times Come To Town

When we cannot see the way through

Give us the courage to continue in faith

When hard times come to our family

Let us gather strength enough to lead

When those around us are falling

Show us the way to stand supportive ground

When we have lost what we have worked for

Cause us to consider there is another way to see it Continue reading

Presence of Peace: An Audience With Our Lady

Your original question was: How can we be at peace, yes?

I have told you. And still you do not believe me. How then is change possible?

Why don’t you just try it? Like you tried today, calling on me?

As you all are so fond of saying: What have you got to lose?

So much of this creation, little one, is set up to work with how

you approach your lives. What you allow yourself to think,

and what stories you choose to cultivate. And the stories you make

about the stories to hold yourself, and others captives. If you all would

stop, just this part, the whole world would be different overnight.

You are the miracles in your midst. Continue reading

Loving God Living Life Loving Life Living God

This is the question and the answer all rolled up in one. Lately my family and I have been exploring what happens to us when we intensely commit to God as we understand God, and what happens when we are less committed to our structured God practice, but still loving and living fully, with God. And the findings are not all in yet – but one thing has come up for all of us:

How do we keep our wild creatives spirits flourishing while in the midst of the structure/paradigm presented by the God House instructions. Continue reading
