I woke up super early and am filled with buzzing energy of joy at what I get to do each day. That is the truth. Now don’t get me wrong I work 8-10 hours a day and I am the phone and computer too much like the rest of you…but interspersed with all of that there are many other blessings I get to be a part of…here are a few of them. I quit coffee again yesterday. So me and matte are making friends but there is nothing like coffee. For me it replaced mother’s milk as I nursed until I was like, four – is that right mom? Maybe three.  OH!! Santiago just came in from the rainy morning and jumped on my lap and became as heavy as he could be — when I tried to take him off he dug his claws into my robe – and…he is WET!! As many of you know I was in LA until yesterday and I am back home now and so happy to be with my Stella Mac and my kitty.

One of the reasons I love my job is because I get to do the coolest things – like talk to other women about things like big fat lies, and how to call our tribes together, photos like the one at the right with my homegirls from Healdsburg remind me of how blessed I feel to be IN my community – and the truth is that I started calling them together over ten years ago…I knew how essential it was to my heart, soul, and to working together as women entrepreneurs. It is time for morning coffee and I am still in my pink bathrobe. WHY because it is my day off and I don’t have to get up and git-r-done. Then I remembered something I wanted to tell you….something worth getting digital for, something about a free call tomorrow with my homegirls’. So I though I would start by asking you…

- What does your INNER MEAN GIRL say to you? Does she tell you that you are not good enough? Don’t have what it takes? Will never ‘get it right’. When mine comes around she brings in her big guns: you must be doing something wrong or everything would look like ___________________(fill in the blank).

Why not give her a journal and a pen for few minutes and just see what she wants to tell you…then…you can work on transforming her negative stories…there is help on the way.  The image at the left is HOW WE WANT to feel about ourselves – peaceful, loving, in beauty…and hope. Not nagging, serving guilt sandwiches and insults.

I have had the pleasure of talking with thousands of women about the hot topic of the critic…and two women I have LOVED talking with whose philosophy is so close to ours at CCU are the founders of Inner Mean Girl Reform School and they are having a Free Open House Call tomorrow, September 14 at 5:30pt.  And if you cannot make that you can still sign up and get the recording.

We just finished our Color of Woman Teaching Training and wow was it ever one of the most incredible experiences of my life, and theirs too. I met Maggie many moons ago when my gallery was in Berkeley at Bella Donna. Her and her husband actually came to my first visioning workshop that was related to creating business with heart! Which in entrepreneurship is one of those joy milestones…wow. I did it. This happened for me early with my art, about 11 years ago. I remember seeing the numbers and feeling so proud….wow, I participated in the commerce of life and did this – with art!? Yes. Maggie knows how to help folks create this in their businesses, that is exciting, and that is why I am participating! Have you always wanted to paint, or known deep inside, you are an artist?

Well it is finally here! The 9 month Teacher Training and Certification for the Color of Woman Method starts in late August. That’s right! I am gonna share HOW to teach the 13 Step Method for Intuitive Painting and Intentional Creativity.

This way of painting and teaching is a gift, meant to be shared, and I give thanks that my own teacher, Sue Hoya Sellars, who was willing to teach me…and now I get to share HOW to teach it with others for the first time.

This method, (miraculously it seems) makes it possible for women to paint images they love, even if they weren’t painters before! Thousands of women have already tried the method and now call themselves artists, and proudly display their paintings in their homes or work places. And of course this isn’t just about painting, but about the intuition and awakening that we experience when we work with image, color, texture, symbol and imagination.

This training is not just for folks who already identify as artists, mostly it is for healers, coaches, therapists and other practitioners who are interested in sharing creative offerings that work with images of the sacred feminine, and who know how important self expression is for our transformation. I guarantee you do NOT have to know how to paint in order to be able to share this work. In addition to learning to teach it so you can teach your own workshops, and offer it in your sessions, you will also be developing your own body of work! And of course, we will teach you how to share this work in the world to create an additional income stream.

When women begin to unfold their own legend through self expression, self image is ALWAYS a part of that. We have discovered after 15 years of working with women, that working with the feminine image from a deeply intuitive archetypal place, is a KEY element in the transformation journey. The way we view ourslves, relate with our own image, is opened up when we paint or draw the feminine, and see ourselves in it. For many women this is the first time since they put down their crayons…it is a blessing to be able to create a space for that kind of healing to take place – and to KNOW this work is teachable and sharable.

I have a quiche in the oven and am headed to the (new!)gallery this afternoon, so I will say Adios for now! And the gallery opening was WONDERFUL – thank you to those of you who wrote notes, showed up in person, brought rose bouquets and chocolate and red wine, of course. The support feels wonderful. Thank you. There seems to be some “relief” in the air that art is yes, indeed alive and well, and that together we will continue to the flame of the creative heart!

Shiloh Sophia Gallery is dedicated to the work of Northern California Artist Shiloh Sophia McCloud who was born in Marin County, California in 1970. Shiloh started painting and working in clay as soon as she could walk. At an early age Shiloh was trained by her mother, the poet Caron McCloud in literature and poetry, and she was chastened not to watch TV, but to learn the poetry of T.S. Eliot, study the work Herman Hesse, look at the artwork of Michelangelo and sketch in her notebook.

At the tender age of 23 she rendered her first one woman show under the tutelage of American Master Painter and sculptor Sue Hoya Sellars whom she has studied with most of her life. This resulted in a sold out show featuring her paintings, combined with photography, writings, sculpture and pottery. In 1997 she opened her first gallery, Color or Woman in Port Townsend, Washington, followed by a gallery on the Plaza in Sonoma, on Princess Street in Sausalito, on Sutter Street in San Francisco and then on the coastal village of Mendocino with her gallery, Wisdom House where she painted plein air on the cliffs for over five years. From the beginning, Shiloh not only represented her own work, but that of over 100 California Artists.

In 2008 Shiloh resettled to the world famous village of Healdsburg, California and opened a second gallery. In December 2010 she celebrated her 16 Year Artist’s Retrospective with a one woman show. Collectors flew in from around the world to purchase her work, and view the artist’s private collection.

Wanting to start a new chapter in her life Shiloh took a 6 month sabbatical and closed both galleries. That didn’t last long however, the retrospective was such a success, that it inspired the vision for Shiloh Sophia Gallery, which features only her own fine art paintings. The artist was so low on inventory, that even the day before opening day she was busy adding finishing touches to the new show, La Vie en Rose, featuring only works from the past six months.

The inspiration for her work is to provide images that inspire, and that promote well being and peace in the viewer. Her original creative spark was lit in a desire to support the end of violence against women and children which prompted her to form Palm of Her Hand, a 501c3 working in art, education and publishing.

Shiloh has authored and illustrated 5 books and she is the founder of Cosmic Cowgirls University, which teaches courses both online and in person with an emphasis on the Intentional Creativity Movement.  Shiloh’s work is often published in books and online, including in the Women’s United Nations Network, with her poems and images going out to hundreds of thousands of viewers.  Shiloh also teaches painting, and visionary entrepreneurship in college courses.

Shiloh Sophia McCloud’s training as an artist included the Academy of Art, and she studied with renowned Byzantine Russian Iconographer, Pavel Tikhimov. While Shiloh Sophia is authentically American, she has developed her own style and has been influenced by European Symbolist movement in the tradition of Klimt, Redon, Modigliani, Chagall, Surrealist Frida Kahlo and Impressionist Mary Cassatt.

Shiloh Sophia’s artwork is collected worldwide with collectors in the United States, Europe, Asia, South Africa, Africa and Canada. At the young age of less than 40 years old, she has produced over 1200 original paintings, and sold over 2 million dollars in art in the past 10 years.  Shiloh Sophia McCloud is emerging as one of the most popular and collected artists in her genre. Experts and collectors say that her work embodies the traditions of the Contemporary Symbolist Movement.

Shiloh teamed up long time friend and collector, former New York Art Dealer Roberto Gomez de Perdomo to produce her 16 Year Retrospective and documentary, A Legendary Life. The duo decided to collaborate to open Shiloh Sophia Gallery in June of 2011, where de Perdomo is the Impresario and Gallery Co-Director.

The gallery also serves as the artist’s studio, and if you are lucky you might find her in the early morning, painting. When the doors open for the day, the smell of wet paint often lingers.

The gallery is open Wednesday-Sunday at 11am and the grand opening will be announced this Summer.

Hi Friends –

It’s a sign…yup, definitely a sign. a fresh start. It was so exciting today to see that sign being put up with my name on it today (gulp). For all this time I have shared the gallery with other women artists, now it is my time to show my work on its own. I am nervous, excited and feel super duper blessed.

My writing sabbatical went WELL and you should be hearing about my new book within the next 9 months. I hadn’t planned on opening so soon but with the support of Roberto and Stella Mac, Sue Sellars and my wonderful collectors I have made this leap of faith once again.  And besides the space that was just right showed up…I gave up on it…then it was in a dream and so here I am. So, less time in front of the computer and more time in front of my easel. I won’t be there during business hours most days as I hope to be PAINTING, and Roberto is co-directing the gallery…but if you tell me when you are coming I can come and see you! I want to say a special thanks and gratitude to my teachers, my mentors, my loves, my mama the Poet Caron McCloud and to the Artist Sue Hoya Sellars without whom, I would not have stuck with brush and pen at all…
