Who do you think the top 100 women visual artists to watch (who paint either sacred or intention based art) in 2010? Post a comment on this blog, with their web address. We are looking for artist’s who create from the heart – not just art for art sake, but really – who create with a healing or inspirational intention. This process may lead to another blog at some point but your comments will be carried over. Let us know who , and why you think we should watch them in 2010. They need to have a website with at least ten paintings or images to show their work – as well as an artist’s statement. Let’s see what happens!

I will start with those I love and represent:
http://www.shilohsophia.com Artist: Shiloh Sophia McCloud
Shiloh has been creating art with intention for over 15 years and also teaches art as sacred practice. Her work demonstrates working from the heart in paint and in prayer.
http://www.enchantedeye.com Artist: Elizabeth Gibbons
Elizabeth Gibbons work is at once grounded and ethereal. She is able to hold light and mystery as one might try to hold a butterfly; gently, with wonder, and with absolute attention.
Her work inspires us to look deeper at the painting, and more deeply at ourselves, as we view layers and layers of prayer, hope, paradox and spirit woven between particles of paint and particles of bead, bone and rhinestone. As an artist, her work is the telling of a story, one that contacts us at the level of the soul, and as an artist, she is legendary.
http://www.suehoyasellars.com Artist: Sue Hoya Sellars
Sue’s work illustrates the cosmic and physical aspects of our spiritual selves. She has been painting and showing her work for over sixty-five years and has been weaving her intention of love and healing for women and girls into her paintings.
I nominate Katie Berggren– a fabulous painter who beautifully captures the spirit, joy, and sacredness of motherhood.

Dear Shiloh – Thank you for this opportunity! I love your work, and bring all visitors to Sonoma County to your gallery in Healdsburg.
I am the Founder and Director of an all volunteer global nonprofit, and 21 “Heartists” have joined my Gallery of Friends (http://galleryoffriends.com) to raise awareness and funding for that nonprofit, Dream One World. (http://www.dreamoneworld.org) All 11 women on the Gallery of Friends website should be nominated, because they not only work through Spirit, but are choosing to give back to their communities and the world with every piece they create. (An aside – Artist and Global Metaphysician “Asandra” on the site is re-doing her page for the Gallery of Friends, but you may view her incredible channeled pieces at http://www.asandra.com) In particular, along with Asandra, I encourage you to visit Susan Gosselin’s page and scroll down…she has recently gone through breast cancer, and is currently creating a collection of spirit-based healing paintings she will be adding to the site when completed. Artist Susiehyer on the site works almost entirely en plein aire all over the world, allowing Nature and Spirit to dictate her work. She was recently featured in Fine Art Connisseur magazine, and is definitely an artist to watch. Others, like Laura Malone, Joanne Panizzera, Bonnie Bowers, and Anne Hilow are local to Sonoma County and base their work in Nature, Spirit, Love, Wildlife, and in Anne’s case, Humor and Whimsy. Helene Barbara’s photographs and Nini de la Torre’s paintings bring Nature and all its exquisite beauty to the forefront. Again, all these women work directly from the Heart in utter Joy and deserve to be recognized for their undeniable talents and service to others. Many Blessings, Love, and Gratitude, Kathy Chism
The artist’s name is Elizabeth Hartford. She is an artist in Maine who captures the quiet, brillance of New England’s beauty. Her focus is on nature scenes and animals, but would custom design anything if need be. Her simple watercolor cards are all handcrafted with love and grace. I certainly hope she is recognized!

So many incredible women artists. Top of my list is Shiloh Sophia McCloud, Mara Friedman and Melissa Harris. Mara Friedman’s art is all about images of spirit empowering women and honoring the sacred feminine. She is also leading wonderful playshops in Oregon and will travel to groups too. I think she would be a wonderful addition as a presenter at one of the future Cosmic Cowgirl workshops/classes/conferences too. Her website: http://www.newmoonvisions.com/. There is also Melissa Harris. I have loved her art work for many, many years. Her web site is: http://www.melissaharris.com/creatrix/ Her images celebreat women, nature, spirit, beauty and magic.
