Welcome to my rambling path. Exploring faith, creativity, wildness, compassion and the mystery of life. I write and paint about being here on earth, loving all of it and seeking peace, even amidst the chaos and suffering. Oh Holy Lady of the Red Thread, please make this journal a blessing and an inspiration! Amen.

I've read a lot of your writings, and have loved them all. But I have never been more moved or motivated than by this one, my dear friend and mentor.

Thank you for posting this, thank you for expressing what I had not yet taken the time to think about too much (at least not while in my "right mind" anyhow).

It's given me so much to think about and I am so inspired by the idea of "procession".....I am passing it on!

Love,
Tracie

Dear Shiloh,

It took me two days to read your letter...lot's to think about...my art is my job and I continue to hold that art is important in society....people will view it, be touched by it and if possible, take it home. In my thoughts art is more important than ever. If we look back in history, or even look at nations where there are pockets of the most unbelievable poverty art, including America, is still made and honored....there will always be a place for the arts....

I like your idea of procession not recession...(I also believe that so much of this is orchestrated)....We must move forward...really what choice to we have? As artists we have a calling, can we turn off our Muse, turn our back...I don't think so. I resent when people imply that this might be the time to get a 'real job'. What does that mean? Is what I do somehow unreal? Unimportant? Think of a world without the arts...not pretty. The artists I know work hard to bring their visions to life.
There are many lessons in history that can speak to us today...a society who holds up 'false idols' is a society that will experience a wake up call...we in America often hold money up as something to idolize.....This is our wake up....maybe my attitude is easy while I still have a roof over my head and the bills get paid...I'm sure there is a different level of fear for those who find they can't hold on to what they have worked so hard for...I'm feeling blessed even though my bank account is small....I don't want to talk to people about what might befall us...ill health or lack...and it isn't because I'm in denial...I listen to FS radio...I read...but I work hard at holding a better vision, one with light, and hope....one that believes adversity makes us strong...and that whatever comes my way makes for wisdom.....
Thank you for sharing yours...I know this is long, but your writing touched and moved me to share.
hug, hug
